Ways I can help

I’ve been a teacher for a long time, and I always offer my students the same deal: If there is any way I can help you in your career, I’m more than happy to do it. All you need to do is reach out.

That deal stands for anyone here as well, student or professional. If you want help navigating the journalism industry — and especially the world of journalism, data and technology — send me a note at chase.davis@gmail.com.

Here are some things I can do for you (thanks to Derek for the inspiration):

• I can make introductions to people I know.

• I can tell you what I know about potential employers or teams you might join, and put you in touch with people who work/have worked for them.

• I can give you advice on career moves and job searches.

• I can be a neutral sounding board in navigating workplace challenges.

• I can provide feedback on technical or methodological problems.

Or anything else. Just ask. The worst I can do is say no.
